Crafting a Rustic Oasis: Building an Outdoor Kitchen

We love turning our customers’ visions into reality. In the spring of 2023, our skilled team took on an exciting project for our long-time customer, David. What began as a simple order request for a table set soon transformed into creating an entire custom outdoor kitchen for an exclusive airstream campground.

The design called for a blend of rustic tones and shaker style to fit into the nature back drop. We carefully selected reclaimed heart pine wood, stained in a light shade, to bring warmth and character to the space. To protect the furniture from the elements, we applied a hard poly finish to all covered items, while opting for teak wood with an oil finish for the exposed furniture.

Managing a large project with multiple pieces that had to seamlessly fit together posed its challenges. However, our experienced team rose to the occasion. We had to adapt our designs as David’s ideas evolved, ensuring that the cabinets would line up with the stove, sinks, and fridge while fitting perfectly into the desired space.

Despite the challenges, we had several advantages that allowed us to excel in this project. With our advanced job management system, we were able to customize the cut list and meticulously plan the assembly process for each specific item. Additionally, our 40,000 square feet shop provided ample room to handle multiple large orders simultaneously and allowing us to receive all the third party components, such as the sink and copper top, and storing them in our warehouse until we were ready to incorporate them into the final build.

Crafting an outdoor kitchen for David’s Airstream campground was a rewarding experience for the Georgia Artisan team. We took pride in our ability to deliver a complete package that included a freestanding bar, kitchen cabinets, a prep table, dining table, outdoor table, chairs, benches, and barstools. The project showcased our team’s craftsmanship and dedication to customer satisfaction, leaving David and his guests with a rustic oasis to enjoy for years to come.
