What type of finish is used on the furniture?

Our furniture is made from reclaimed heart pine. This gives unique warm tones to the designs. This pine is not what we typically think of pine today. This pine was likely virgin growth from Middle Georgia from much slower growing pine trees. The heart of these trees is the very best and is denser and harder than new hardwoods today. This wood will hold up well to all types of use and abuse. If you are interested in a different species other than heart pine, please message us, we have ability to get all types of wood.

Why do we use reclaimed wood?

There are many reasons that we utilize reclaimed wood in our projects. The first is the look of it. The decades spent being weathered, lived on, moved, and beaten have created a unique look to each board we use. This creates character in our pieces that cannot be duplicated and gives each piece its own story. Another reason we use reclaimed wood is the benefit it provides to our community. Unfortunately, there are a number of abandoned or forgotten buildings in Macon, Georgia. We work in conjunction with city authorities and local businesses to deconstruct these buildings, creating new and useful spaces for our community.

What is the difference between table, counter, and bar height?

Table height is regular dining and desk height and is 30” High, the seat for chairs for tables are 18” high. Counter Height tables are 36” high and are used for standing workspaces. Kitchen counters and islands and buffets are this height. Chair seats for this are 24” high. Bar Height is for standing dining and drinking, great for having people both seated and standing at the table together. Chairs seats are 30” high for this.

Can I use my product outside?

We only have one table that we recommend for being fully exposed to the elements, our Teak X-Frame Table [Link to Teak X-Frame Table product page]. This tabletop is made from Teak which is a tropical hardwood that can withstand the sun and water. For all other items, we do not recommend having your table in direct sunlight or exposed directly to the weather all the time. If you intend to use your table in covered porch or patio, that should be alright. However, please let us know so we can work with you to take extra steps to keep the piece looking beautiful all year.

How do we ship our products?

We have you, our customer, at the forefront of our mind when we decide how to ship or deliver an order. This can vary based on location, order size, and time frame. If we decide to ship your order, we will use FedEx or FedEx Freight to fulfill the shipment. For orders that are in the delivery range, we will send two of our carpenters to deliver your items. We make regular delivery trips up the East coast, through the Midwestern states, and sometimes all the way to the West coast. We feel that meeting our customers face to face is a great practice, and we can ensure safe delivery of the order, proper assembly, and guarantee the order is perfect for you.

What is White Glove shipping?

We offer flat rate White Glove shipping to all in-region customers for $150 per order for all large items. Once we have your furniture ready or close to ready, we’ll call you two weeks in advance to find a time that works for you for delivery. Delivery is as easy as opening your door and pointing to where it goes. You’ll get to meet part of the team that makes your furniture. It will be a two-man team that will be able to carry it in and set it up for you.

What are the long-term care instructions?

The wood itself is high quality and meant to last. In addition, the finish we use is very durable so it’ll be hard to damage your new furniture. Anything you can touch, it can touch: hot coffee, cold water. You’ll need a placemat for hot dishes out of the oven and don’t leave wet items on it overnight, and you’ll be good to go. We recommend any cleaner that isn’t acidic (like orange or citrus based cleaners or bleach) and clean it like any other surface. We use warm soapy water on a damp cloth to clean ours. Any permanent damages that life may leave it will most likely hide well with the rustic look of it, but it is also easy to repair yourself or we can schedule a time to do that for you, just call us.

What if my order is damaged in shipment?

Unfortunately, shipping such large items can be difficult and sometimes accidents do happen. We will gladly replace or repair any item that was damaged in shipping for you. If we are able, we will come to your home and repair it there or exchange it for a duplicate order. Sometimes due to time or geography, we will not be able to do this. We will work personally with you to ensure that your problem is solved, and you are satisfied with our product.

Why are your products priced the way they are?

We would love to make our furniture accessible to all budgets, but due to several factors, it is necessary for us to have a higher price than other commercially available furniture. The process we go through to get the materials for the furniture is incredibly labor intensive. We literally tear down houses to get the wood, we do not buy it. Then we must clean the wood, de-nail it, and cut it into manageable sizes so that we may use it for projects. While most furniture makers buy their materials from suppliers, we are our own suppliers, so we have an extra step in our production process that we must provide labor for.
